Rue Ramsey is the Vice President of Workforce and Talent Strategies in Economic Development at the Tulsa Regional Chamber. In this role, she works with regional stakeholders to provide collaborative solutions and talent strategies for workforce development across industry sectors. Whether assisting businesses with their talent development strategy or sharing best practices and global trends, Rue remains at the forefront of efforts to ensure Tulsa continues to have a qualified workforce.
Leveraging her extensive experience and knowledge of the broader talent landscape, Rue plays a key role in shaping initiatives to support economic prosperity and innovation. Her commitment to fostering resilience and sustainable growth is evident by her leadership and engagement in various initiatives aimed at promoting the Tulsa region as a thriving business hub. She founded the Tulsa’s NextGen Talent initiative that provides diverse high school and college students with clear pathways into careers. It was recently recognized as one of the best in the world by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). Prior to joining the Chamber, Rue was Education Director at Junior Achievement and College and Career Readiness Coordinator for Tulsa Public Schools.
Born and raised in the Tulsa region, Rue witnessed the transformation of Tulsa into the current hub of diversified industries it is today. Her keen interest in the dynamics of economic growth and community empowerment prompted her to embark on a career dedicated to fostering positive change. She serves on the board of The Higher Education Consortium and Teach for America. She is also an instructor for economic developers with IEDC, graduated from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executive’s Economic Recovery fellowship and was in the inaugural cohort of the African American Leadership Academy. She has been nominated and received various awards for her innovation and leadership. Most recently, she was named Student Champion of Success by City Year Tulsa.
Rue attended Oklahoma State University where she was a cheerleader and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. In her spare time, you can find Rue with her husband
Sterling cheering on their 4 children in their sports and activities. She runs and bikes on trails throughout the greater Tulsa area and is always looking for a great book to read.
